Rajasthan Tiger Safari Packages: Ranthambore, Sariska and Mukundra Hills

Planning a Rajasthan Tiger Safari? You can choose from three tiger reserves. Ranthambore National Park near Sawai Madhopur is the most popular. Sariska Tiger Reserve near Alwar is the closest to Delhi, and Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve near Kota is quiet and offbeat. You go into the forest in an open jeep or canter with a forest guide, in the morning or the afternoon. Safari Tour India books the permit in your name, your hotel and transfers together as one Rajasthan Tiger Safari package.

We are based in Ranthambore, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, a few minutes from the park gate, so the safari part of your trip is handled by people who live and work here.

Travellers from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other Indian cities book their tiger safaris with us, and so do guests from the UK, USA, Europe, Australia and the UAE. Plan with us on WhatsApp or email before you travel, and we'll pick you up from the railway station, Jaipur airport or your hotel. Tigers move freely, so nobody can promise a sighting, but two to four drives give you a fair chance. Tell us your dates and where you're travelling from: call or WhatsApp +91 77373 10027.

Why go

Why Choose a Tiger Safari in Rajasthan?

Seeing a tiger is the hope, but it isn't the whole drive. You also get dry forest, lakes, birds and plenty of animal behaviour you'd never see from a car window.

Explore natural tiger habitats

Rajasthan's forests are dry and fairly open, especially from March to June, so animals are easier to see than in dense jungle. Each drive follows a fixed route in your allotted zone, with a forest guide on board. Sightings are never guaranteed.

Choose your safari vehicle

Ranthambore runs both 6-seat jeeps (Gypsy) and 20-seat canters. Sariska and Mukundra Hills mainly use jeeps. We tell you what's open for your date before you book.

Enjoy wildlife photography

Morning drives start in soft light and afternoon drives end in warm light near water. A private jeep gives photographers room to move. Drones are not allowed, and park rules on equipment apply.

Combine wildlife with a Rajasthan holiday

Ranthambore is about 180 km from Jaipur and on the Delhi–Mumbai rail line, so it fits easily into a trip with Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer or Pushkar, or into a Golden Triangle tour of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.

The three reserves

Rajasthan Tiger Safari Destinations

01 · Sawai Madhopur

Ranthambore Tiger Safari

Ranthambore National Park, next to Sawai Madhopur, is one of the best-known tiger reserves in India. Its dry forest, lakes such as Padam Talao and Rajbagh, old chhatris and the hilltop Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, give it a look no other park has.

The park is split into ten safari zones, and your zone is allotted when the permit is booked. Core zones open from 1 October to 30 June. Drives run twice a day, morning and afternoon, for about 3 to 3.5 hours. Ranthambore is the easiest tiger reserve to add from Jaipur, or as a stop between Agra and Jaipur on a Golden Triangle tour.

02 · Alwar

Sariska Tiger Safari

Sariska Tiger Reserve lies in the Aravalli hills near Alwar, about 110 km from Jaipur and around 200 km from Delhi. The forest is dry and rocky, with old temples and the ruins of Kankwari Fort inside the reserve.

Sariska lost its tigers in the early 2000s and was restocked with tigers moved from Ranthambore from 2008. Numbers have grown since, though sightings are less frequent than at Ranthambore. Drives are by jeep, in the morning and afternoon. We check current gate and zone operations for your date before we confirm anything.

03 · Kota

Mukundra Hills Tiger Safari

Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve, near Kota in south-eastern Rajasthan, covers forested hills and gorges along the Chambal and its tributaries. It is one of Rajasthan's newer tiger reserves and gets very few visitors.

Tigers have been moved here from other reserves, but numbers are still small, and safari routes and timings are more limited than at Ranthambore. Think of it as a quiet drive through wild country with a chance of a tiger, plus leopards, sloth bears, deer and good birdlife. Because access can change, we confirm what's open before we add it to your plan.

Booking

Tiger Safari Rajasthan Booking: How to Plan Your Trip

Permits are limited for each zone and time slot, and the busy dates go early. This is how we plan a booking with you.

  1. 01

    Choose your reserve

Ranthambore for the best-known tiger park, Sariska if you're short on time from Delhi, or Mukundra Hills for a quiet offbeat drive. Think about where you start and what else is on your trip.

  2. 02

    Pick your dates

Your dates decide which zones are open, which hotels are free and how the drives fit around your train or flight. Core zones close from July to September.

  3. 03

    Check permit availability

Permits are issued under Rajasthan Forest Department rules. Send us your date, reserve and group size, and we check what's open and book it in your name. Indians need Aadhaar or another government ID; foreign nationals need a passport.

  4. 04

    Arrange stay and transport

We book a hotel close to the gate and a pickup from Sawai Madhopur, Alwar or Kota station, Jaipur airport or your hotel. Each service is listed separately in your quote.

  5. 05

    Confirm the details

Before you travel, check the permit, zone, vehicle, reporting time and place. On the day, carry the same original ID you booked with.

For Tiger Safari Rajasthan booking, WhatsApp us your reserve and dates. We'll tell you what's available before you pay anything.

Cost

Rajasthan Tiger Safari Packages with Price

Short answer: there is no single price. A seat in a shared canter costs far less than a private jeep, and a safari-only booking costs less than a three-night package with hotel and car. Foreign nationals also pay a higher permit fee than Indian citizens.

What can change your safari cost?

  • Safari permit and park entry charges
  • Jeep or canter, and shared seat or full vehicle
  • Number of travellers and number of drives
  • Hotel category and number of nights
  • Private car or intercity transport
  • Season and travel dates
  • Other places you add to the trip

Comparing Rajasthan tiger safari packages with price? Send us your dates, number of travellers and the services you want. Every package comes with a day-by-day itinerary, and your quote keeps our charges, optional extras and the fees paid to the forest department on separate lines.

Tiger Safari Tour Rajasthan: Travel Options from Major Indian Cities

Plan a tiger safari as a weekend break, a family holiday or one stop on a longer trip. Here's how guests usually reach the reserves.

From Delhi and the NCR

Ranthambore is about 5 hours from Delhi by train to Sawai Madhopur, or 6 to 7 hours by road. Sariska is closer, 4 to 5 hours by car from Delhi, Gurugram or Noida, so it works well for a weekend.

From Mumbai and Pune

Overnight trains run from Mumbai to Sawai Madhopur, or you can fly to Jaipur and drive 3 to 4 hours. From Pune, most guests fly to Jaipur.

From Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad

Fly to Jaipur, the nearest airport for Ranthambore and Sariska, and our car meets you there. Add Jaipur city or another Rajasthan stop if you have the days.

From Kolkata and Ahmedabad

Fly to Jaipur, or check train connections to Sawai Madhopur or Kota. We pick you up at the airport or station.

From other Indian cities

Lucknow, Chandigarh, Indore, Surat, Kochi or anywhere else: tell us your city and we'll suggest the quickest way in.

International guests

Rajasthan Tiger Safari for International Tourists

Most guests from abroad pair a safari with forts, palaces and the Taj Mahal. We plan the wildlife days and the rest of the India trip together.

From the UK and Europe

Fly into Delhi, then pair Ranthambore with the Taj Mahal and Jaipur on our 7-day Golden Triangle tour with Ranthambore. With more time, add Udaipur or Jodhpur.

From the USA and Canada

Most guests fold the safari into a longer India trip. Plan at least two nights at Ranthambore so jet lag doesn't eat into your safari days.

From Australia and New Zealand

After a long flight you'll want a smooth plan: airport pickup, a rest day if needed and a hotel close to the park gate.

From the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf

Short flights to Delhi and Jaipur make Rajasthan easy for a 4- or 5-day wildlife and heritage break from Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Riyadh.

Before you fly

Check your Indian visa or e-Visa, buy travel insurance and send us your passport details for the safari permit. Depending on what you book, we coordinate the itinerary, hotels, car and safari bookings for you.

Who it's for

Tiger Safari Rajasthan for Families, Couples and Solo Travellers

Family wildlife holidays

Shorter transfers, a hotel with space for children and a canter or private jeep, depending on family size. Children need a permit too, and age rules vary by park, so we check them for your dates.

Couples and private holidays

A private jeep, a quieter lodge near the park and a free afternoon between drives. Add Jaipur or Udaipur for a mix of wildlife and heritage.

Solo travellers

Book a single seat in a shared jeep or canter so you don't pay for a whole vehicle. We tell you what's left for your date, and any minimum charges, up front.

Wildlife photographers

Book a private jeep for space, plan several drives and bring a long lens. Drones aren't allowed, and park rules on equipment and vehicle movement apply. Sightings can't be promised.

Plan by season

Best Time for a Tiger Safari in Rajasthan

Short answer: October to June is the tiger safari season in Rajasthan. October to February is cool and comfortable. March to June is hot, but animals gather at waterholes, so sightings often improve. Core zones close from July to September.

Before you book, we check the current opening and closing dates, whether your preferred zone and vehicle are free, the weather and road conditions, hotel availability and any new rules from the reserve authorities.

Don't pick dates only on the chance of a tiger. Plan for the whole forest, the birds, the deer, the crocodiles in the lakes, and a tiger becomes the best part of a good trip rather than the only reason for it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find your answer? Call or WhatsApp +91 77373 10027.

Which are the main destinations for a Rajasthan tiger safari?

We run tiger safaris in three reserves: Ranthambore National Park near Sawai Madhopur, Sariska Tiger Reserve near Alwar and Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve near Kota. Ranthambore is the most popular and has the best record for sightings. Sariska is the closest to Delhi, and Mukundra Hills is quiet and little visited.

How can I book a tiger safari in Rajasthan?

Send us your reserve, date, number of travellers and ID details on WhatsApp, phone or email. We check open zones and slots, book the permit in your name and send the confirmation on WhatsApp. Indian citizens need Aadhaar or another government ID, and foreign nationals need a passport.

What is the price of a Rajasthan tiger safari?

It depends on the reserve, whether you take a shared canter seat, a shared jeep seat or a private jeep, your nationality (foreigners pay a higher permit fee), the number of drives and any hotel or transport you add. Send us your plan and we'll share an itemised quote.

Are jeep and canter safaris available in Rajasthan?

Yes, at Ranthambore you can choose a 6-seat jeep (Gypsy) or a 20-seat canter. Sariska and Mukundra Hills mainly run jeeps. Both vehicle types in Ranthambore drive the same zones, but jeeps are quieter and sell out first in peak season.

Can I book a Rajasthan tiger safari package with a hotel?

Yes. Most guests book safaris with a hotel near the park gate and transfers from the station or airport. Your quote shows the hotel category, number of nights, transfers and safari charges separately, so you know exactly what you're paying for.

Can international tourists book a tiger safari in Rajasthan?

Yes. Foreign nationals book the permit with their passport details and carry the original passport on the day. Permit fees for foreigners are higher than for Indian citizens. We can plan the safari together with airport pickup, hotels and the rest of your India trip.

Can I combine a tiger safari with the Golden Triangle tour?

Yes. Our 7-day Golden Triangle tour with Ranthambore goes Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore and Jaipur, with two nights near the park and two or three drives. Ranthambore sits between Agra and Jaipur, so it adds very little extra driving.

Is a tiger sighting guaranteed during a safari?

No. Tigers are wild and move freely between zones, so no one can guarantee a sighting. Your chances improve with more drives, so we usually suggest two to four safaris, and the hot months from March to June, when tigers spend more time near water.

What should I check before confirming my safari booking?

Check the date, reserve, zone, vehicle type, reporting time and place, the name and ID on the permit, and the cancellation terms. If your package includes a hotel or car, check the hotel name, nights and pickup details too.

How early should I plan my Rajasthan tiger safari?

Book as soon as your dates are fixed. Seats for popular Ranthambore zones and jeeps can sell out weeks ahead from October to April, and around Diwali, Christmas and New Year. For quieter months or Sariska and Mukundra Hills, a shorter lead time is usually fine.
