Golden Triangle Tour Packages: Delhi, Agra and Jaipur

Golden Triangle tour packages take you through Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, three cities that sit roughly at the corners of a triangle on the map. It's the route most people choose for a first trip to India. In less than a week you see Mughal tombs, the Taj Mahal, Rajput hill forts, old bazaars and plenty of everyday Indian street life.

Safari Tour India is based in Ranthambore, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. We book hotels, a private air-conditioned car with driver, local guides, airport pickup and sightseeing in one go. Keep to the classic three cities, or add a tiger safari in Ranthambore, which is our home ground, or a few slow days by the lakes of Udaipur.

We plan for travellers from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and other Indian cities, and for guests flying in from the UK, the USA, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Europe and Australia. Tell us your travel dates and where you're flying in from. Call or WhatsApp +91 77373 10027 (WhatsApp works from any country) or email info@safaritourindia.com.

Qutub Minar and the Iron Pillar, Delhi
3 Nights / 4 DaysBest for first-timers

Golden Triangle Tour – 3 Nights / 4 Days

Delhi → Agra → Jaipur

The shortest way to see all three cities. Day 1 is Delhi: Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate and Old Delhi. On Day 2 you drive to Agra, about 3.5 to 4 hours, for the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Day 3 starts with the Taj at sunrise if you like, then Fatehpur Sikri on the way to Jaipur. Day 4 is Amber Fort and the City Palace before you leave.

With only four days, flight times matter. We plan the first and last day around them, and keep your Agra day off Friday, when the Taj Mahal is closed.

It suits families with children, older travellers and photographers who want early starts and late light without rushing from one monument to the next.

Golden Triangle Tour with Ranthambore – 6 Nights / 7 Days

Delhi → Agra → Ranthambore → Jaipur

After Delhi and Agra, you head to Ranthambore near Sawai Madhopur, about 5 to 6 hours from Agra by road or a few hours by train. You stay two nights and go on two or three jeep or canter safaris, then finish in Jaipur, about 3 to 4 hours away.

Our office is in Sawai Madhopur, so we handle this part ourselves: safari permits in your name, a hotel close to the park gate and all the transfers. Safari seats depend on availability, so book early. Nobody can guarantee a tiger sighting, and we won't pretend otherwise.

The route

What Will You Experience on a Golden Triangle Tour?

Each leg is a half-day drive in a private car, so you reach the next city with the afternoon still free.

Delhi → Agra~230 km · 3.5 to 4 hrs on the Yamuna Expressway
Agra → Jaipur~240 km · 4 to 5 hrs, with Fatehpur Sikri on the way
Jaipur → Delhi~280 km · about 5 hrs
Qutub Minar complex, Delhi
Day 1 · Delhi

Delhi: Historic Landmarks and Modern India

Delhi shows you several cities at once. New Delhi has India Gate, the wide avenues around Rashtrapati Bhavan, Humayun's Tomb and the Qutub Minar. Old Delhi has the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and a cycle-rickshaw ride through the lanes and food stalls of Chandni Chowk.

International guests land at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where our driver waits with a name board. Coming from within India by flight, train or car? Tell us where you'd like to be picked up.

Jahangiri Mahal inside Agra Fort
Day 2 · Agra

Agra: The Taj Mahal and Mughal Heritage

The Taj Mahal is the reason most people take this tour. Go at sunrise, when the marble turns soft pink and the crowds are thinner. Agra Fort, the red sandstone fort on the river bend, and the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, often called the Baby Taj, are worth your time too.

The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday, so we plan your Agra day around it. Tell us if a sunrise visit matters to you and we'll set the hotel and timings for it.

Hawa Mahal, Jaipur
Day 3 to 4 · Jaipur

Jaipur: Forts, Palaces and Rajasthani Culture

Spend a morning at Amber Fort on its hill, then the City Palace, the Jantar Mantar observatory and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal. In the evening, walk the bazaars for block-printed cloth, jewellery and blue pottery, and try a Rajasthani thali or dal baati churma.

Jaipur is also the easiest place to go further. Ranthambore, Pushkar, Jodhpur and Udaipur are all a drive away if you want more of Rajasthan.

Trip length

Golden Triangle Itinerary: How Many Days Do You Need?

Short answer: 4 days is the minimum for Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. 5 days suits a round trip from Delhi, 6 days is comfortable, 7 days lets you add Ranthambore, and 8 days adds Udaipur.

The right Golden Triangle itinerary depends on when you land, where you fly out from and how fast you like to travel. These are suggested plans, not a fixed list of sights. Each real day depends on drive times, monument closing days, your flight times and hotel check-in, so we build the schedule around those.

Unsure which one fits? Send us your dates and the places you don't want to miss, and we'll compare the options with you.

Cost

Golden Triangle Tour Cost: What Affects the Price?

Short answer: the Golden Triangle tour cost depends on the number of travellers, days, hotel category, car type, guides, season and extras. Adding Ranthambore or Udaipur changes the route and the price.

Prices are highest from October to March and over Christmas and New Year. For a quote, send us:

  • Your arrival and departure dates
  • Number of adults and children
  • Preferred hotel category
  • The itinerary or cities you've chosen
  • Airport pickup and drop-off needs
  • Whether you want a Ranthambore safari or an Udaipur extension

We reply with a day-by-day plan and an itemised quote that shows what's included and what isn't, before you pay anything.

Plan by season

Best Time for a Golden Triangle Tour

Short answer: October to March is the best time for a Golden Triangle tour. Days are pleasant for walking around monuments. April to June is very hot, and July to September is the monsoon.

December and January can bring thick morning fog to Delhi and Agra. It sometimes delays flights and trains and can hide the Taj at sunrise, so we keep a little slack in winter plans. In summer, daytime temperatures often cross 40°C, so sightseeing starts early and pauses in the afternoon heat.

Over Christmas, New Year and Diwali, hotels fill up fast, so send us your dates early. If you're adding Ranthambore, check safari seats for your dates before you build the rest of the trip around them, and remember its core zones close from July to September. Whatever month you pick, leave some room for road conditions, festivals and changes to monument timings.

Oct to MarPleasant days, cool nights. Peak season, with winter fog some mornings
Apr to JunVery hot, often above 40°C. Early starts, lower hotel prices
Jul to SepMonsoon. Greener and quieter; Ranthambore core zones closed

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find your answer? Call or WhatsApp +91 77373 10027.

What is the Golden Triangle tour in India?

The Golden Triangle is a travel route that links Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, which sit roughly at the corners of a triangle on the map. In four to six days you see Delhi's Mughal monuments and old bazaars, the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, and Jaipur's Amber Fort and City Palace. You can add Ranthambore or Udaipur to make it longer.

How many days do I need for a Golden Triangle tour?

Four days is the minimum for Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Five days suits a round trip from Delhi, and six days is comfortable for families and older travellers. With seven days you can add a Ranthambore tiger safari, and with eight you can add Udaipur.

What is the best time for a Golden Triangle tour?

October to March is the best time, with pleasant days for sightseeing. December and January can bring morning fog in Delhi and Agra. April to June is very hot, often above 40°C, and July to September is the monsoon, when the core zones of Ranthambore are closed.

Is the Taj Mahal open every day?

No. The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday. On other days it opens around sunrise and closes around sunset, and a limited number of night-viewing slots are available around the full moon. We plan your Agra day so it never falls on a Friday.

Can I book a private Golden Triangle tour?

Yes. Every tour we run is private: your own car and driver, hotels you approve and a sightseeing plan built around your dates. You are not grouped with strangers, and your quote lists exactly which services are included.

Can international tourists book with your team?

Yes. Travellers from the UK, USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Europe and Australia plan with us by email or WhatsApp before they fly. We arrange airport pickup in Delhi, hotels, a private car with driver and English-speaking guides.

Do you provide airport pickup in Delhi?

Yes. Send your flight number and arrival time, and our driver will meet you in the arrivals hall at Indira Gandhi International Airport with a name board, including on late-night flights. We can also pick you up from a railway station or your hotel.

Can I add Ranthambore to the Golden Triangle?

Yes. Our 7-day Golden Triangle tour with Ranthambore goes Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore and Jaipur, with two nights near the park and two or three safaris. Our office is in Sawai Madhopur, so we book the permits ourselves. Seats depend on availability, and no one can guarantee a tiger sighting.

Can I include Udaipur in the same trip?

Yes. Our 8-day tour adds two nights in Udaipur after Jaipur. Jaipur to Udaipur is about 6 to 7 hours by road or a short flight, and most guests fly home from Udaipur via Delhi or Mumbai, so there is no long drive back.

How do I get a tour quotation?

Send your travel dates, the number of travellers, your hotel category and the package or cities you want by phone, WhatsApp or email. We reply with a day-by-day plan and an itemised quote that shows what is included and what is extra.
