Rajasthan Tour Packages: Explore the Cities, Forts and Deserts of Rajasthan

Planning a holiday in Rajasthan? Safari Tour India puts together Rajasthan tour packages that cover the state's old cities, hill forts, lakes, desert and temple towns. We are based in Ranthambore, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, and we book the whole trip in one go: hotels, a private air-conditioned car with driver, local guides and each day's sightseeing.

You don't need to be in Rajasthan to plan with us. Guests travel from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and other Indian cities, or fly in from the UK, the USA, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Europe and Australia. We plan everything with you by phone, WhatsApp or email before you arrive, then meet you at the airport, railway station or hotel.

Pick one city for a short break, a slow family holiday, a couple's trip to Udaipur or a ten-day road trip from Jaipur to the Jaisalmer dunes. We take care of the hotels, the driving and the timings, so your days go on the places themselves. Call or WhatsApp +91 77373 10027 (WhatsApp works from any country) or email info@safaritourindia.com.

Every city in Rajasthan feels different. Jaipur has the forts and royal palaces, Udaipur the lakes, Jodhpur the blue old town, Jaisalmer the golden sandstone and the desert, and Pushkar its sacred lake and temples. Sawai Madhopur is the base for Ranthambore. Visit one city or join several into one trip.

Hawa Mahal, Jaipur

01 · The Pink City

Jaipur Tour Packages

Most Rajasthan trips start in Jaipur. The city has Amber Fort on its hill, the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, the Jantar Mantar observatory (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and old bazaars full of textiles, jewellery and blue pottery. It suits first-time visitors, families, couples and groups.

Pairs well with Pushkar (about 3 hours away), Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur or Udaipur.

Lake Pichola and the old city, Udaipur

02 · The City of Lakes

Udaipur Tour Packages

Udaipur is built around its lakes. The City Palace runs along the shore of Lake Pichola, and the old town has narrow lanes, havelis and rooftop cafés that look over the water. The pace is slower than Jaipur, which is why couples and families like it.

Udaipur works as a 3-day break on its own or as the last stop on a route from Jaipur or Jodhpur.

Mehrangarh Fort above the blue houses of Jodhpur

03 · The Blue City

Jodhpur Tour Packages

Jodhpur's old town is a maze of blue-painted houses below Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India. Close by are Jaswant Thada, the Clock Tower market and Umaid Bhawan Palace. Drive out of the city and you reach the villages and sand of the Thar Desert.

Pair it with Jaisalmer (about 5 hours by road) for western Rajasthan, or with Udaipur via the Ranakpur temple.

Camel rides on the sand dunes near Jaisalmer

04 · The Golden City

Jaisalmer Tour Packages

Jaisalmer is a sandstone town in the middle of the Thar Desert. People still live inside Jaisalmer Fort, which is rare for a fort anywhere in the world. The town also has finely carved havelis such as Patwon ki Haveli, Gadisar Lake and, about 40 km away, the Sam sand dunes.

We suggest at least two nights in Jaisalmer. A desert camp night fits well into a Jodhpur–Jaisalmer trip.

Ghats around Pushkar Lake

05 · The Holy Lake Town

Pushkar Tour Packages

Pushkar is a small temple town built around a sacred lake and its 52 ghats. It has one of the very few Brahma temples in India, a busy main bazaar, and the Savitri Temple on the hill for sunrise views. It's much quieter than the big cities, and the town serves only vegetarian food with no alcohol.

Pushkar is about 150 km from Jaipur, so it fits easily between Jaipur and Udaipur or Jodhpur.

06 · Our home base

Sawai Madhopur Tour Packages

Sawai Madhopur is our home town. It sits on the Delhi–Mumbai railway line, about 180 km from Jaipur, and it is the gateway to Ranthambore National Park and Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Because our office is here, we handle the ground arrangements ourselves: hotels near the park, car transfers and onward travel to Jaipur, Agra or other cities.

A tiger safari is booked separately from city sightseeing, through the forest department, and depends on seats being open on your date. See our Rajasthan Safari Tour page.

Multi-city trips

Multi-City Rajasthan Tour Itinerary Options

Want to see more than one city? These four routes join Rajasthan's forts, lakes and desert in one holiday. We change the order and the number of nights to match your arrival city, dates and pace.

More route ideas

  • Jaipur and Udaipur (4 to 5 days): Jaipur's forts and palaces, then Udaipur's lakes. The two are about 6 to 7 hours apart by road.
  • Jodhpur and Jaisalmer (4 to 5 days): western Rajasthan, with Mehrangarh, Jaisalmer Fort, the havelis and a night on the dunes.
  • Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur (6 to 7 days): a good first look at Rajasthan's royal cities without the long desert drive.
  • Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur (9 to 10 days): the full road trip, with two nights in each city so you're not living in the car.
  • Rajasthan with Delhi and Agra: start or end in Delhi and see the Taj Mahal on the way. See our Golden Triangle Tour Packages.

Not sure which route to pick? Tell us how many days you have, where you'll land and what interests you, and we'll suggest two or three options.

Who it's for

Rajasthan Tour Packages for Families, Couples and Groups

A honeymoon couple and a family with two small children want very different trips. We plan around your group size, pace and the places you care about.

Rajasthan family tour

Fewer hotel changes, shorter drive days and breaks built in. Children usually enjoy Amber Fort, a boat on Lake Pichola and a camel ride on the dunes more than a long museum visit.

Rajasthan honeymoon tour

Lake-view hotels in Udaipur, a sunset boat ride, a heritage haveli in Jaipur or a night in a Jaisalmer desert camp. Tell us it's a honeymoon or anniversary and we'll ask each hotel what it can arrange.

Group holidays

One plan and one vehicle for friends or a large family: a sedan for up to 4 people, an SUV such as an Innova for 6, or a Tempo Traveller for bigger groups.

Solo travellers

A private car and driver lets you set your own pace without working out buses and trains between cities. We stay in touch on WhatsApp for the whole trip.

International visitors

Guests from the UK, USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Europe plan with us before landing. We tell you what to pack for your month, how tipping works and what each day looks like.

Whether you live in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad or abroad, you can plan the whole trip with us by phone, email or WhatsApp. You don't need to visit our office first.

Cost

How Much Does a Rajasthan Tour Cost?

Short answer: the Rajasthan tour cost depends on how many people are travelling, the number of days, the hotel category, the car you need, the cities and any guides or activities you add. A two-day Jaipur trip and a ten-day road trip are priced very differently.

Prices also go up from October to March and around Diwali, Christmas and New Year, when Rajasthan is busiest. Travelling in April, May or the monsoon months usually costs less.

For an accurate quote, send us your travel dates, the number of adults and children, how many days you have, the hotel category you prefer and the cities you want to see. Tell us if you need a pickup from an airport, railway station or another place. We confirm prices and availability for your exact dates before you book.

What changes the price

  • Travel season and festival dates
  • Hotel category: budget, 3-star, 4-star, heritage or luxury
  • Car type: sedan, SUV or Tempo Traveller
  • Number of days and cities
  • Guides, desert camp, safari or other extras

Plan by season

Best Time to Visit Rajasthan

Short answer: October to March is the best time to visit Rajasthan. Days are mild and good for forts and long drives. April to June is very hot, and July to September brings the monsoon.

Winter nights get cold in the desert, so pack a warm layer for a Jaisalmer camp in December or January. In summer, daytime temperatures often cross 40°C, so we plan sightseeing for early morning and evening, and hotels cost less. The monsoon turns Udaipur green and empties the crowds, though the core zones of Ranthambore close from July to September.

Festivals can shape your dates: the Pushkar Camel Fair (October or November), the Jaisalmer Desert Festival (usually February), Diwali and Holi. Dates change every year, so we check them, and monument timings, for your month before we finalise the plan.

Oct to MarMild days, cool nights. Best for sightseeing and desert camps
Apr to JunVery hot, often above 40°C. Lower hotel prices, early starts
Jul to SepMonsoon. Udaipur at its greenest, fewer tourists

Trip length

How Many Days Do You Need for Rajasthan?

Short answer: 3 to 4 days covers one or two cities, such as Jaipur and Ranthambore. 5 to 6 days covers three cities, such as Jaipur, Pushkar and Udaipur. With 9 to 10 days you can do the full loop with the desert: Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur.

How many days you need depends on how many places you want to see and how far apart they are. The cities are 3 to 7 hours apart by road, so a long drive takes most of a day. Our rule of thumb is two nights in each city, so you aren't packing and unpacking every morning.

Send us your arrival and departure dates and we'll tell you honestly which places fit and which ones to save for next time.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find your answer? Call or WhatsApp +91 77373 10027.

Can I book a Rajasthan trip if I live outside Rajasthan?

Yes. Most of our planning happens on phone, WhatsApp and email, so you can book from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad or anywhere else. We fix the itinerary, hotels and car before you travel, and our driver meets you when you arrive.

Do you help international travellers visiting Rajasthan?

Yes. Guests from the UK, USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Europe and Australia plan with us before they land. We arrange the airport pickup in Delhi or Jaipur, hotels, a private car with driver and English-speaking guides, and we tell you what to expect in your travel month.

Can I arrange hotels and a private car in one booking?

Yes. Hotels and a private AC car with driver are the core of every package. You approve the hotels, and your quote shows the car type and whether fuel, tolls, parking and driver allowance are included.

Can you create a customised Rajasthan itinerary?

Yes, every trip is planned to order. Share your dates, group size, arrival city, the places you want to see and your interests. We send a day-by-day plan, and you can change the order, the hotels or the number of nights before you confirm.

Can I combine several Rajasthan cities in one trip?

Yes. Popular combinations are Jaipur and Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, or the full loop of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur, with Pushkar or Sawai Madhopur added on the way. Allow about two nights per city, as the drives between them take 3 to 7 hours.

How many days do I need for Rajasthan?

3 to 4 days covers one or two cities, such as Jaipur and Ranthambore. 5 to 6 days covers three cities, such as Jaipur, Pushkar and Udaipur. With 9 to 10 days you can do Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur, including a night in the desert.

What is the best time to visit Rajasthan?

October to March is the best time, with mild days and cool nights that suit sightseeing and desert camps. April to June is very hot, often above 40°C, and July to September is the monsoon, when Udaipur is at its greenest and crowds are thin.

How do I find out the cost of my trip?

Send us your dates, the number of adults and children, your hotel category and the cities you want to see. We reply with a day-by-day plan and an itemised quote that lists what is included and what is extra, so there are no surprises later.

Can I add a wildlife experience to my Rajasthan holiday?

Yes. You can add a tiger safari in Ranthambore, a leopard safari in Jhalana near Jaipur or Jawai, or birdwatching at Bharatpur. Safaris are booked separately through the forest department and depend on seats being available for your date, so it helps to tell us early.
