The Blue City

Why Choose Our Jodhpur Tour Packages?

Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha and was the capital of the Marwar kingdom. Today it's called the Blue City for its blue-washed old town, and the Sun City for its year-round sunshine. In one trip you get a huge hilltop fort, royal palaces, busy bazaars and desert villages just outside town.

The trick is not to cram it all into one day. We plan your Jodhpur travel package so each part gets the time it deserves.

How we build your trip

  • Your choice of sights, in a sensible order
  • A private car for sightseeing and excursions
  • Stays in old-city havelis, fort-view hotels or budget rooms
  • One-day visits, two-day plans or longer Rajasthan trips
  • A slower pace for families and older travellers
  • Extra time for photographers in the fort and old-city lanes
  • Bishnoi village, Osian, Jaisalmer or Udaipur add-ons

Everything agreed, including car, hotel, tickets and guide, is confirmed in writing before you book.

Must-see sights

Best Places to Visit in Jodhpur

A good Jodhpur sightseeing tour pairs the big landmarks with time in the old city's lanes and markets.

01

Mehrangarh Fort

One of India's largest forts, begun in 1459 on a rock about 120 m above the city. Inside are richly decorated palaces like Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal and Sheesh Mahal, and a museum of royal palanquins, elephant howdahs, arms and paintings. The ramparts give the best view of the blue houses below.

Allow two to three hours. Go early, take the audio guide, and use the lift if you'd rather skip the steep climb. For a bit of adventure, the Flying Fox zipline runs across the fort walls.

02

Jaswant Thada

A white marble memorial built in 1899 for Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, about a kilometre from the fort. The marble is so thin in places that it glows in the sun. Small gardens, a lake and a clear view back to Mehrangarh make it a peaceful 30 to 45 minute stop.

03

Umaid Bhawan Palace

Built between 1929 and 1943 for Maharaja Umaid Singh, this is one of the largest private homes in the world. Part of it is still the royal family's residence and part is a luxury hotel. Visitors can see the museum section, with royal clocks, photos and vintage cars.

04

The Blue City and Old Jodhpur

The blue-painted lanes of Brahmpuri and Navchokiya sit right below the fort. Walking here shows you everyday Jodhpur: doorways, temples, chai stalls and rooftops. The lanes are narrow, so we explore on foot with a local guide. Please ask before photographing people or homes.

05

Clock Tower and Sardar Market

The Ghanta Ghar clock tower stands in the middle of Sardar Market, Jodhpur's busiest bazaar. Shop for spices, bandhej tie-dye fabric, leather juttis, silver and handicrafts. Try a makhaniya lassi or mirchi vada from the stalls around it.

06

Toorji Ka Jhalra

An 18th-century stepwell in the old city, built by a queen and restored in recent years. Its deep, criss-crossing red sandstone steps make it one of the most photographed spots in Jodhpur. There are good cafés around it for a break.

07

Mandore Gardens

About 9 km north of the city, Mandore was Marwar's capital before Jodhpur. Its gardens hold tall red sandstone memorials of the old rulers, temples and the Hall of Heroes. It's a good half-day add-on if you have extra time.

Short on time

Jodhpur Day Tour: What Can You See in One Day?

Is one day enough for Jodhpur? Yes, for a first look. One day covers Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, a Blue City walk and Sardar Market. Two days are better if you also want Umaid Bhawan, the stepwell, Mandore and a village safari at an easy pace.

A Jodhpur day tour suits travellers short on time or passing through on a bigger Rajasthan trip. The key is picking the sights that matter most to you.

Jodhpur Itinerary for 3 to 4 Days

Best time to visit Jodhpur: October to March, with pleasant days and cool nights. Summer (April to June) can cross 40°C, so we schedule sightseeing early and late. In October, the Marwar Festival and the Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF) at Mehrangarh are worth planning around.

Beyond the monuments

Bishnoi Village Safari and Rural Experiences Near Jodhpur

Just outside Jodhpur, a Bishnoi village safari shows you a different side of Marwar. The Bishnoi community has protected trees and wildlife for over 500 years, and blackbuck and chinkara are often seen near villages like Guda Bishnoi.

A typical half-day trip goes by jeep through the villages, with stops to see pottery being made, dhurrie rugs woven on looms and a traditional home. Wildlife sightings depend on the day and aren't guaranteed.

What we confirm before you book

  • The route and how long the safari takes (usually half a day)
  • Jeep and local guide arrangements
  • Which village stops and activities are included
  • Whether it suits your group, including children and older guests
  • Photo etiquette: always ask before photographing people and homes

We keep visits respectful, with no disturbance to residents, animals or private land.

Getting around

Jodhpur Sightseeing by Car

A private car is the easiest way to see the fort, palace, Mandore and village areas in one trip. Our driver drops you as close as possible, waits while you explore and keeps your bags safe.

The old-city lanes and market are too narrow for cars, so those parts are done on foot. We plan the walking sections into your route.

Your car quote clearly shows

  • Pickup and drop points
  • The sightseeing route and hours
  • Whether parking, tolls and extra km are included
  • Car type: sedan, SUV or tempo traveller
  • Walking sections in the old city
  • Excursions outside Jodhpur

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Jodhpur Tour Packages

Still unsure? Call or WhatsApp +91 77373 10027.

How many days should I spend in Jodhpur?

Two days is ideal. Day one covers Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and Umaid Bhawan, and day two covers the Blue City, Toorji Ka Jhalra, Sardar Market and a Bishnoi village safari or Mandore. One day works for a quick first look, and three to four days let you add Osian or start a route to Jaisalmer or Udaipur.

What can I see in Jodhpur in one day?

In one day you can see Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, the Umaid Bhawan museum, a short Blue City walk and the Clock Tower market. Start at the fort early, because it takes two to three hours on its own.

What are the best things to do in Jodhpur in two days?

Explore Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada, visit the Umaid Bhawan museum, walk the Blue City at golden hour, see Toorji Ka Jhalra, shop in Sardar Market, try mirchi vada and makhaniya lassi, and add a Bishnoi village safari or Mandore Gardens.

What is included in a Jodhpur tour package?

A standard Jodhpur package covers your stay, a chauffeur-driven car, arrival and departure transfers and a sightseeing plan for each day. You can add fort tickets, a local guide, meals or a village safari. Your written quote lists every inclusion and exclusion.

How much does a Jodhpur tour package cost?

The cost depends on your group size, number of nights, hotel category, car and add-ons like a village safari or onward travel to Jaisalmer or Udaipur. WhatsApp us your dates and group size for an exact price.

Can I book a Jodhpur one-day tour package?

Yes. We arrange a private car and driver from your hotel, the airport or the station, and plan the fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan, Blue City and market in the right order for the day.

Can I include a Bishnoi village visit in my Jodhpur trip?

Yes. A Bishnoi village safari is a half-day jeep trip from Jodhpur, with village homes, pottery, weaving and a chance to see blackbuck. It fits well on the second day of a two-day trip.

Is Jodhpur suitable for a family holiday?

Yes. Kids love the fort, the zipline and the markets, and the fort has a lift for older guests. We plan the big sights in the cooler morning, keep walks short and add regular breaks.

Can I combine Jodhpur and Jaisalmer in one trip?

Yes. Jaisalmer is about 285 km away, around 5 hours by road. A good plan is two nights in Jodhpur and two nights in Jaisalmer, including a desert camp.

Can I combine Jodhpur and Udaipur?

Yes. Udaipur is about 250 km away, around 5 hours by road, and we usually stop at the Ranakpur Jain temple on the way. Plan at least two nights in each city.

Do you offer Jodhpur tour packages from Delhi?

Yes. Most Delhi guests fly or take a train to Jodhpur, and our driver meets them on arrival. We can also plan a road trip that includes other Rajasthan cities on the way.
